For a crucial sequence in the forthcoming biopic "Mary Kom", based on the life of Olympic bronze medallist boxer M.C. Mary Kom, Priyanka Chopra went for a bald look. The actress says it was her "responsibility" to do justice to her character.

Priyanka's bold look can be seen even in the film's promos.

The versatile actress says she was very excited about it - so much so that she was all around the film's set in that look.

"Mary has done it (gone bald) in her life. This is an authentic scene in the film and I was very excited about it," Priyanka said here Wednesday at the launch of the film's trailer.

"First of all I am an actor, so as an actor it is my responsibilty that whatever character I take up I do it with honesty. This is always my personal challenge that I set for myself that how differently I can portray all my characters. So I was not at all hesitant, in fact I was very excited," she added.

Will she ever go bald in real life?

"Never say never. I always surpise myself, so you never know," the 32-year-old said.

Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and helmed by Omung Kumar, "Mary Kom" will hit the theatres Sep 5.

Malayalam film star couple Dileep and Manju Warrier Thursday filed a joint divorce petition in a court here.

The two were closeted with a family court judge for a while for the first counselling session that is required in a divorce petition.

This comes after they were told there would be limited legal proceedings if a joint divorce petition was filed and they could legally separate within six months.

The hearing has now been posted for Jan 27, 2014 and the two will be legally separated on that day.

On Wednesday, 45-year-old Dileep's June 5 divorce petition came up for hearing at the family court. The two were asked to appear in person but did not turn up.

After they turned up Thursday with a new petition, Dileep's plea stands withdrawn.

While Dileep came to the court with his counsel, the 35-year-old actress was accompanied by her brother.

The two were married in 1998, after which Manju Warrier called time on her film career, while Dileep's continued.

Following differences of opinion, the two have been living separately for some time now. Their teenaged daughter lives with Dileep.

The actress began her career in 1995, and in a short span of four years acted in 20 films. She quit acting in 1999.

Earlier this year, she returned to films and her first release, "How Old Are You", has been a hit and she has got numerous offers.

Monsoon's casual style tricks

With the sun playing hide and seek and the rain gods surprising you with showers, it’s best to be prepared for the season by dressing up right. Take out your rolled sleeve tees and shorts and dance in the rain.

Siddharth Munot, director and co-founder of Bewakoof.com, shares how to dress up casually for monsoon season:

* Rolled sleeve tees and printed shorts will be a great combo to go with during rains. Go for bright coloured shorts with black or white tees to make a style statement.

* Team up printed round neck tees with rolled bottom denims. For the perfect rolled bottom denims, pinch in excess fabric along the seam, then fold up your hem.

* You can also pair up printed sleeveless tees with a lightweight monsoon jacket and a rolled bottom shorts. Printed ganjis is also a good option.

* Keep the heavy leather shoes away and swap them with flip-flops, canvas shoes or loafers in fancy colours.

So far he has put his funny side up, but now stand-up comedian-turned-actor Virr Das turns serious for "Jaane Kyon" and even shed a lot of weight to fit into the role in the 1984 riots-based movie.

Set in the backdrop of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the film is a true story of a family who survived the riots on the night of Oct 31 that year.

"My next film is a serious drama. It is titled 'Jaane Kyon' and its based on 1984 riots. I have shot half of it and now waiting for my beard to grow, so I can start shooting again," Virr told IANS.

So far he has done fun-filled movies like "Delhi Belly", "Go Goa Gone" as well as "Revolver Rani", but for him "Jaane Kyon" is the toughest.

"It's the toughest film so far because I had to lose weight and look much leaner for the film. I had lost nine kgs for the film," said the actor.

Virr will be seen with Soha Ali Khan in the film which is scheduled to release in October this year.

For him, it was not a cake walk to get into the serious genre after being part of comedies.

He said: "It was difficult to get into serious genre but at the end of the day, I am an actor and as an actor you can't keep on doing comedy. You have to explore everything."

Do's, Don'ts for monsoon bride

$
0
0

Monsoon weddings may be a hit as they score high on the romantic factor, but they spell skin and hair problems for the brides. To get a radiant skin, girls should adhere to certain rules like shunning oil and going for less cosmetics, said an expert.

Sangeeta Amladi, head medical services, Kaya Skin Clinic, draws up a handy list of beauty do's and don'ts for the blushing bride-to-be to ensure she looks exactly the way she feels - like a princess, said a statement.

Five beauty tips to follow before a monsoon wedding.

* Keep the oil at bay: Oil secretion is accelerated during the monsoons, so make sure you wash your face with a mild face wash around three-four times a day. You could also use a gentle scrub with mild beads once a day. It is important to recognise what suits your skin and what doesn't well ahead of your wedding day. After all, your skin is your crowning glory and you don't want anything to mar your bridal beauty.

* Go pro-protein: We know how all that pre-wedding anxiety makes you want to eat literally everything off the shelf. While comfort food may calm your nerves for a while, your skin is far from happy with your food choices. Maintain a balance by eating foods that are rich in protein such as salmon, eggs, carrots, dark green veggies, nuts and low-fat dairy products.

* Get your fix of skin pampering: While you're busy running around on last-minute errands and making sure everything is in place, your skin is begging for some spa indulgence. Unwinding with a relaxing facial regularly will ensure that you, as well as your skin, feel like a million bucks on the day you are to wed. However, a word of caution, get these facials done by professionals who can customize it to your skin type, to avoid any ill-timed reactions.

* Go easy on the cosmetics: While you are the bride and understandably want all eyes on you, applying heavy makeup is a big no-no. Using non-greasy makeup will lend a clean matte finish to your skin. Additionally, opt for water-proof brands as the increased moisture in the air means you stand the risk of looking like a painting gone wrong.

* Keep an eye out for those nasty fungal infections: While you may be out shopping or enjoying dinner at a restaurant with your to-be husband, the rain may catch you unawares. Although it is oh-so-romantic to get drenched in the rain with your significant other, fungal infections will definitely make you regret it later. Bathing with lukewarm water and using anti-fungal creams, soaps and talc will ensure your skin stays healthy and infection-less.

Five beauty don'ts to steer clear of before D-day:

* Don't subject your tresses to elaborate treatments: Using a mild shampoo to wash your hair and conditioning afterwards will restore volume to your hair and also get rid of the frizz that comes with rain. Keep hair treatments to the minimum and avoid styling products as they tend to cause dandruff.

* It’s okay to lose your mind, but definitely not your sleep: As you count down the days to your wedding, it is absolutely okay to feel restless, it's part of being the bride after all. However, make it a point to get at least seven hours of sleep every night and catch a few winks in between occasionally. If you feel uncharacteristically lethargic, try some yoga to boost your energy levels.

* Leave the experimenting for another day: Tempted to try out a new beauty treatment you looked up on the internet? Think that a newly introduced cream will add to your bridal glow? Think again. Your skin may not feel the same way you do and you do not want to end up with a nasty reaction barely days before your marriage.

* Don't step out without sunscreen: You would do well to remember that sunscreen is your best friend throughout all seasons. In fact, sunscreen also protects the skin from harmful UV rays that are emitted by your computer screens and television sets! Make a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher factor part of your bridal beauty regime and put your tanning and pigmentation woes to rest.

* Don't forget to remember your feet: Good foot care starts with some tender love, soak your feet in warm water and use a pumice stone to gently scrub away loose skin. Treat your feet while you sleep - slather on a thick moisturizer and slip into a pair of socks, which will help seal in moisture overnight. Go for regular pedicure sessions, after all you do need good feet to rock those stunning shoes!

My commitment to 'vikas' stands: Hema Malini

Reacting to the criticism about her absence from her constituency Mathura, actor-politician Hema Malini claims she is "working for my people wherever I am" and that she will always stick to her commitment of facilitating progress in the Uttar Pradesh town.

The actress, who is on her way back to Mumbai from New York, took to Twitter to clarify her stance after seeing the "clamour against" her on the micro-blogging site.

Angered voters from her constituency have reportedly put up "missing" posters of her in the city.

But Hema said: "I am told that the campaign against me is the work of some disgruntled people in the constituency. I am not worried! My conscience is clear. I am working for my people wherever I am."

Describing herself as a "committed person", she said she will "always stick" to her commitments because that is her nature.

Members of Parliament (MPs) often turn oblivious to the problems in their constituency, but Hema claimed: "Where others make empty promises, I will go ahead & honour the promises I made to the people of Mathura.

"My commitment for 'vikas' (progress) stands. And I am not doing this for dikhawa. I will show that I am a person of values - I have been given that kind of an upbringing & I will live it."

Hema says it was her prior commitment that took her to the US.

A successful danseuse, she was in the US for her performances and said she had committed to the trip in 2013. While in the US, she has tried to work out ways to bring about progress in Mathura.

"I have achieved so much for Mathura here. Highly qualified eye doctors are ready to set up camps in Mathura. I have told u abt the Trust. Bk in India I have to start its counterpart so that funds can be remitted for Mathura's vikas," worte the actress now on her way to India via London.

"(Nitin) Gadkariji tells me that the road improvement will start getting funds frm the Centre now. We have to identify impt roads for the project. I have fixed up an office in Mathura frm where I will be functioning. Identifying a residence also. Soon all the spadework will bear fruit," she tweeted Thursday.

The rising inflation rate has become a matter of concern for people in her region who blame the government for adding to their woes, but Hema blames drought for the price rise.

"What makes u think that prices are high only in Mathura? This is a nation wide phenomenon & every one is suffering. The drought the country is facing is responsible for the rise in prices - not any MP or govt.! Am I in charge of the weather also?"

Will recognise those who miss out India's top awards: Mamata

$

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday said her government will continue to recognise the contributions of artistes, literati and sportspersons from the state who are often sidelined for coveted honours like the Padma Shri or Padma Bhushan.

"We want to bring to light the contributions of unsung heroes from Bengal. We started the Banga Bhushan awards as I saw so many artistes would wait for years for a Padma Shri or Padma Bhushan... they used to do their work for years and sometimes their lives would be over but still they didn't receive any honour.

"So we stepped in and thought we would give them a boost in our own way," Banerjee said at a glitzy function for the Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Samman awards at the Nazrul Mancha here.

The awards was given out to the state's top actors, singers and technicians.

Instituted by the state government in 2012, the third edition of the awards saw a clutch of stars, with affiliations to the ruling party, Trinamool Congress, bag prizes.

Reigning Bengali matinee idol Dev alias Deepak Adhikari, also a Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member, who starred in Bengali film industry's most expensive movie till date, "Chaander Pahar", took away the Mahanayak Samman.

Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee got the Mahanayika Samman.

A lifetime achievement nod was in store for actress Moon Moon Sen, a Lok Sabha member from the Trinamool.

Singer Kumar Sanu was emotional as he collected the lifetime achievement award in music.

"I have got many records and achievements but I have never been recognised by the Bengal government. This is the first award from my state government. Thank you Didi," the singer said, referring to Chief Minister Banerjee.

"It is our misfortune and shame that we could not recognise your achievements earlier," the chief minister responded.

Banerjee emphasised her vision to strengthen infrastructure of the Bengali film industry called 'Tollywood' as it is located in south Kolkata's Tollygunge area.

"We need to have a vision and mission. Hollywood will come to Tollywood, it may happen some day. Our industry will rock Mumbai, India and the rest of the world," she said.

Veterans from the field of cinema as well as young guns were lauded with the honour instituted in the memory of Bengali film legend, late Uttam Kumar - affectionately called 'Mahanayak' or great actor.

The award function coincided with the stalwart's 34th death anniversary Thursday.

India's fabric manufacturer OCM India Limited has joined hands with Italian designer M. Cristina Fedriani for creating its premium winter collection, which will hit the Indian market September end.

Fedriani established and manages Progetto Stile - a service company working in fashion market for around 25 years.

"We have made around 850 designs, which comprise 5,000 shades. The designs are around three themes which are the gentlemen's club, urban style and essential daily wear," OCM India Ltd's global sales head Vikram Mahaldar told reporters here.

"We are working with Cristina from last three years now and we realised that right now, the urban part of the country understands the essence of Italian design and fabrics which may not be true for rural India. But in urban India, the taste has started changing towards Italian designs and it's globally true.

"Across the world made in Italy is considered to be premium...People want to buy imported Italian fabrics and seeing that trend, we tied up with Cristina. She is our design associate based at Turin, Italy," he added.

Fedriani started with a small pilot project and went on to create the winter one for OCM India Limited.

"She also had to understand Indian taste. We can't make collection that is completely Italian in nature. She has been coming here for the past two years. For the first time, for the winter she has made a large part of the collection and therefore, we are introducing her now," Mahaldar said.

It wasn't a cakewalk for the Italian designer, who is an architect by training.

"It was not easy, but OCM are open minded. Italy is the heart of creativity and fashion, for tailoring and quality. For each customer, I understand their concept and adapt my work only for their market and customers," said Fedriani.

Available in various shades of colours like red, green, blue and purple, the winter collection has wool-silk, lycra, wool-poly and much more.

OCM Indian are also set to launch women's wear range and ready-to-wear sweater and pure silk ties.

"The urban parts of the country, a lot of women want to get formally dressed because they are working with corporates. Fortunately for us, women in India come in different shapes and sizes and therefore, readymade garment generally don't fit them...

"They have to go to tailor and get customised. So, we thought of giving fabric solutions especially for corporate women so that they can choose fabric. We will give style guide also which will have various styles of garments for women and they can take that style guide and tell the tailor that they want the fabric in this cut. Having realised that demand, we have introduced this collection," said Mahaldar.

The company is known for its wool and wool-blended worsted fabrics.

'Kick' - Salman Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala kick up a storm (IANS Movie Review, Rating - ****)

$

Film: "Kick"; Cast: Salman Khan, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Jacqueline Fernandez; Director: Sajid Nadiadwala; Rating: ****

"Kick toh banta hai, boss!" The number of times the word 'kick' kicks into this heady cocktail of comedy and action, you'd think there's no word in the dictionary that gives our hero a greater kick than...well, kick.

So, brace yourself for a hero who likes to get his kick in the unlikeliest ways. And a hero, who is as unpredictable, whimsical, mischievous and intimidating as Salman Khan.

Let's pause here for a word on the phenomenon named Salman Khan. His stardom defies analysis...as much as his antics on screen. He is what he is. While writing his character in "Kick", co-writers Chetan Bhagat, Rajat Arora and Sajid Nadiadwala had to consider Salman's fan following every step along the way. The script is heedful of but not servile to Salman's stardom.

This time Salman comes across as far stronger aggressive and in-your-face character than he did in his recent films like "Bodyguard" and "Jai Ho". Salman sinks into the dual role of the prankster Devi and his Robin Hood doppelganger Devil with the smirky relish that only Salman knows how to muster and master. He makes the dual personality not so deep and dark as fun and enjoyable.

The superhero's mask when it goes on is sure to bring the house down. 'Debutant' director (he handles the cast and characters and the plot like a veteran) Sajid Nadiadwala has set the core-action, a cat-and-mouse chase plan featuring the dare...um...Devil hero and a determined cop (Hooda, in command), in the striking ambience of Warsaw. It's an exhilarating set-up.

The stunts spiral splendidly into a climax .The stunts are of the kind never seen before in Hindi cinema, decidedly superior in execution to what we saw in 'Krrish 3' and 'Dhoom 3'. Nadiadwala spares no expenses to ensure that his super-hero flick gets going from the first frame. The spectacle is never over-the-top.

Playing the karmic crusader comes easily to Salman Khan who likes to see himself being...well... human in real and on screen. Cleverly, the plot weaves the superstar's real and reel persona into a precocious pastiche where you never know where the reel Salman ends and where the fictional begins.

While his eyes go moist for suffering children he also becomes a child on the dancefloor cavorting to the sound of "Saat samundar paar" from Rajiv Rai's "Vishawatma"...Nadiadwala's sly little homage to his deceased wife Divya Bharti on whom the song was originally filmed.

The narrative's pace never slackens. The crucial crossovers in characterization and continents are achieved without much ado. This can be a problem when we're in search of consistency in the characterization of other heroes. But not Salman. We expect him to be whimsical and mercurial. And as he jumps personalities, he lives up to his unpredictable image.

The plot is designed as a flashback conversation between Jacqueline Fernandez and Randeep Hooda who could have been strangers in a train if only they were not engaged to get married. On a journey, they both discuss the man who played havoc in their lives without knowing it's the same character.

Nadiadwala ensures there are enough tailormade sequences to accentuate Salman's super-heroic persona. An early encounter in a crowded cafe between our hero and a group of eve-teasers is superbly comic and yet reflective of a largely dormant society that allows evil to flourish. Also deftly done is Salman's interview with his future father-in-law (Saurabh Shukla, as brilliant as ever) where audiences familiar with Salman's conduct at press meets, would recognize his wry responses.

This is a film never short of surprises. The mixture of the real and the reel gambols through a maze of confidently executed episodes. Not all of them work, though. The drunken buddy-buddy bonding sequence between Hooda and Salman falls flat as Hooda goes progressively over the top. Hooda is otherwise very much in control over his character and plays off against Salman very effectively. Salman's scenes with his screen-father Mithun Chakraborty are a scream for all the wrong reasons, mainly because Mithun's Bengali accent comes in the way of his Punjabi character.

And that brings me to Jacqueline Fernandez who has bravely spoken her own Hindi lines. We will ignore her linguistic efforts and focus on how gorgeous she looks while dancing with and for Salman in "Jumme ki raat". This film definitely marks her coming of age.

Admirably, the supporting characters are well written. But if you ask me the biggest hero besides Salman is Ayanka Bose's cinematography which makes Salman, Warsaw, Mumbai and Jacqueline look fetching without resorting to accessorized illumination.

The colour tones in the frames are eye-catching without going the garish way. In his directorial debut Sajid Nadiadwala has opted for restrain where he could have unleashed a typhoon of spectacle. The film looks and feels right. "Kick" is super-slick but never in a 'show-offy' way. It is an out-and-out Salman vehicle but there's room for other interesting characters.

I came away with Nawazuddin's evil laughter ringing in my ears. Not because it's scary, but so indicative of the world of ferocious comicbook battles that Salman inhabits so casually.

This Eid, go dance with the Devil.

Salman's transparency connects him with audience: Nawazuddin

Actor par excellence Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who admits he got a kick out of working with Salman Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala's "Kick", says the superstar's honesty is his biggest virtue.

"We may come from different schools of acting. And I like to prepare for my scenes. But once on the sets, we both like to improvise a lot with our scenes. What I like about Salman is his honesty. He is exactly the same outside and inside. It's this quality of transparency that connects him with the audience," Nawazuddin said.

"It's ('Kick') the biggest film I've worked in so far...I have a grey and very substantial role. This film will give me a much broader audience base because of Salman Khan's presence," he added.

The film released Friday.

Nawazuddin is also all praise for Sajid Nadiadwala, who has made his directorial debut with the project.

"'Kick' may officially be his first film as director. But Sajid saab has grown up on the sets watching directors shoot films for his grandfather and father. Shooting 'Kick' with Sajid Saab I didn't feel I was being directed by a first-time director," said the National Award winning actor.

Initially, Sajid thought Nawazuddin would have to change his style of acting.

"Sajid saab did tell me to raise the octave of my acting-pitch by one notch. However, when we got down to doing the scenes, we discovered that my normal style of performance suited the film's mood just fine," he added.

Now the actor is also very excited about Sriram Raghavan's "Badlapur".

"I've a positive role in 'Badlapur'. And what a director Sriram Raghavan is! His detailing of scenes and his entire approach to characters and direction are so different from Sajid Nadiadwala. Both have been learning experiences in their own right for me," he said.

Nawaz thinks very highly of his "Badlapur" co-star Varun Dhawan, who recently entertained cine-goers with "Humoty Sharma Ki Dulhania".

"He is so dedicated at getting the role right at such a young age. He has only done bright films so far. This is his dark film. And he blends into the mood so effectively," he said.

Salman finds his lady love, calls her 'JFK'

One of Bollywood's most eligible bachelors, Salman Khan has admitted having a lady love in his life - his “Kick” co-star Jacqueline Fernandez. Recently, the superstar jokingly gave her his surname Khan, and made her blush when he revealed his admiration for her.

While this is the first movie that two are doing together, they seem to have hit it off really well. They made a joint appearance to promote their film “Kick” on Zee TV’s “India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj”.

Making an entry on the show, Salman introduced Jacqueline as ‘JFK’ on the sets, said a source.

When the show's hosts - Vishal Malhotra and Hussain Kuwajerwala - quizzed him about Jacqueline being called ‘JFK’, Salman decided to keep mum while Jacqueline blushed.

Putting their thinking caps on, the two thought that Salman was probably making a reference to John F. Kennedy. When they tried reasoning this with Salman, he was quick enough to tell them that it stood for Jacqueline Fernandez ‘Khan’!

While Jacqueline couldn’t help blushing at this comment, Salman just laughed off any further questions.

Pampering her to bits on the sets of the show, Salman constantly ensured that his on-screen lady love was comfortable at the shoot. Having limited understanding of Hindi, it was quite difficult for Jacqueline to get some of the acts and give comments in Hindi. This was when Salman would jump to her rescue.

He would help her with a few important Hindi words that he’d whisper in her ears each time.

“India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj” airs every Saturday and Sunday.

Pakistani model-actress Humaima Malick, who is making her Bollywood debut with forthcoming Emraan Hashmi starrer "Raja Natwarlal", a thriller, seems to be in awe of the way Bollywood's 'serial kisser' romances onscreen. She says he's good at romance.

"Emraan teases a lot. He bullies you a lot, but the good thing about him is that he is good at romance," Humaima, who has shared some passionate kissing scenes with the actor in the film, said in an interview.

"He is a very cool person, a very good co-star," added the 26-year-old.

Further, praising Emraan's professionalism and work, Humaima said: "He gives you your space (while working), doesn't teach you. I have worked with lot of actors who give their input in your scenes, but he does not do that and leaves you in your own space and leaves the rest on the director."

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures and directed by Kunal Deshmukh, "Raja Natwarlal" also features Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon. It will hit the theatres Aug 29.

YRF Entertainment, the international arm of Indian production giant Yash Raj Films Friday announced that it will remake the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Sujoy Ghosh-directed and Vidya Balan-starrer "Kahaani" for international audiences as "Deity".

The remake will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” fame, while Jose Rivera (“The Motorcycle Diaries”) and Richard Regen (“Tehran”), have scripted the adaptation.

"Deity" is a thriller about an American woman who goes to Kolkata in search of her missing husband. As she gets closer to the truth, she finds herself at the centre of a dangerous conspiracy. The story unfolds in the context of a colourful, week-long festival.

The international movie will be financed and produced by YRF Entertainment, and starts production in February 2015. It will be shot on location in Kolkata.

Oplev guarantees that the movie will be a compelling and exciting thriller with complex and interesting characters.

"A neo-realistic style to story and images will take the audience deep into Kolkata many different levels. A fascinating clash between American and Indian culture," Oplev said in a statement.

Uday Chopra, CEO, YRF Entertainment, is confident that Niels is "the perfect director to transform the appeal of 'Kahaani' to 'Deity'".

"Niels has an elevated understanding of both international thrillers and strong female characters and his vision for capturing the vibrancy and energy of contemporary Kolkata will appeal to audiences in the US and worldwide," Chopra said.

Ghosh, who directed the original, has hailed the "incredible step" by YRF.

"Years back Aditya Chopra had said he wanted to make ‘Kahaani’ for a global audience… I thought he was kidding. But obviously not. YRF has left no stone unturned on making the English version. The new script is perfectly suited for the Western audience and what I am really looking forward is to see Niels direct this version," he said in a statement.

"I'm sure he will bring a unique vision to the Western version," Ghosh added.

E-commerce site Exclusively.in has introduced the luxury couture line of ace designers Manish Malhotra and Gaurav Gupta, bringing them from the runway to the e-store.

The website has picked the best pieces from the couture collections launched by designers during ICW, to preview and retail on their own and their partner websites, said a statement.

Gupta's couture 2014 collection, created for today's modern bride, is filled with ensembles with fluid drapes, sheer panels and brazen cut-outs. The colours include metallic gold, silver and electric blue.

Malhotra’s collection includes elaborate vintage motifs, delicate Kashmiri embroidery, old world mirror work and sequins all brought together in garments that exude glamour.

In keeping with the designer's signature style, the collection is crafted in velvet and silks with the colour palette ranging from soft shades of beige and gold, salmon pink to hues of rust orange and red.

The collection also has ensembles for men, which in keeping with the inspiration, included a confluence of old-world and modern elements. Structured, traditional long kurtas have details like pleats and high collars to complete the look for bridegrooms. The colour palette is dominated by beige, white, ivory and maroon, with gold detailing and intricate embroidery completing the picture.

Also, this will be the first time where customers from around the globe would be able to purchase and view these lines.
