Film industry is an insecure place: Kangana Ranaut

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has no film background, says the film industry is not a secure place to be in. She says there are times when she has movie offers, but there are days when she has no projects in hand.

"I won't say I don't want to be where I am today, but the industry is an insecure place to be in. This industry is like one fine day you get up and you get a call for work and at times you don't get work for six months. It's not just about me. I think everybody has their own insecurities," Kangana told IANS.

She said that it is nice to have her elder sister Rangoli around.

"I have been without my family in this city (Mumbai) for a long time so it's nice to have your family around. My sister works with me. She handles my work, manages everything and I only act," said the 26-year-old.

"Its not about me being successful or unsuccessful ... no matter what happens, she is always there for me. It's a great feeling. This industry is a place which can tend to be an insecure place so it's good to have somebody around who doesn't judge you," she added.

Kangana has made a place for herself in the Hindi film industry, but she has one regret.

"I have learnt everything here, but my only regret is that I wish I had better guidance in the beginning of my career. I wish somebody was there to guide me. The place where I come from, they don't give much importance to art. I didn't know how to behave or what expectations people have from me," she said.

Kangana, who impressed audiences with her acting skills in movies like "Gangster", "Fashion" and "Tanu Weds Manu", is also praised for her fashion sense. She says her inspiration comes from "old Hollywood".

"I don't have any fashion guru as such, but I travel a lot and take inspiration from different places. Old Hollywood is my all-time inspiration," said the curly haired beauty who is looking forward to the last quarter of 2013.

"(The year) 2013 so far has been dull, but towards the end it's exciting. I have some good films coming up so I am really looking forward to it," she said.

She will be soon seen in superhero movie "Krrish 3".

Director Punit Malhotra has revealed the two posters of his forthcoming movie "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein", starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Their attire and backdrop are a combination of city and rural lives.

Going by the look of the posters, it seems Imran is playing a city-based guy and Kareena is acting as a simple girl from village dressed in salwaar kameez.

In the first poster, Imran and Kareena are seen sitting opposite each other on a broken bridge as their eyes meet. The poster goes well with the tagline of the movie "Only love can bridge the gap".

In the second poster, Imran is standing next to Kareena, with a clay pot on his head, while the actress is seen striking a pose next to him. The actors are standing on a bunch of hay and the background shows a bridge in a city.

Kareena's bright coloured clothes definitely get one's attention.

Punit, who has worked with Imran in "I Hate Luv Storys" will be working with Kareena for the first time.

He revealed the first look on Twitter Sunday and captioned the posters as: "With a lot of love and passion we've made a film.. Here's the first look ... Our first two posters."

The cast and crew of the movie recently finished shooting in Bhuj, Gujarat.

This is not the first time Kareena and Imran are sharing screen space. They were seen together in slice-of-life 2012 movie "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu".

Produced by Dharma Productions, "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" is set to release Nov 22.

The long-awaited Rajnikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan, his first release in 3 years following his illness and slow recovery, has finally found a release date.

The long-anticipated spectacle is all set to be released on 12 December , the day Rajnikanth turns 63.

We’ve heard a lot of false release dates for Kochadaiyaan for the last 1 and a half years. But now finally the film’s co-producer Dr Murli Manohar confirms, “We are aiming at a 12 December, 2013 release for the film, finally. It’s been a long struggle. But we wanted Rajniji’s fans to get the most perfect film after a 3-year wait.I think we’ve achieved what we set out to do.”

The film’s music by A R Rahman will be released in October.

The release of Kochadaiyaan in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and several other languages including Japanese makes it the most global Rajnikanth release ever.

It looks like Deepika Padukone who plays Rajnkanth’s female lead in Kochadaiyaan would have 4 back-to-back blockbusters in 2013.While Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express have already smashed boxoffice records, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela and Kochadaiyaan which Rajnikanth’s daughter Soundarya directs would consolidate Deepika’s position as the no.1 Bollywood diva.

Interestingly this special-effects laden action film Kochadaiyaan comes just a week ahead of Yashraj Film’s Dhoom 3 which releases on 20 December.

Don't believe in rigorous workout regimen: Akkineni Nagarjuna

$

The secret of actor Akkineni Nagarjuna's fitness even at 54 is not a rigorous workout routine, but over two decades of regular exercise and pursuit of healthy day-to-day habits that include the synergy of body and mind.

"I don't believe in the concept of working out rigorously to pump muscles. It may be effective, but when you stop working out, it comes back to square one. I believe in long and consistent exercising which I have been doing religiously for nearly 25 years now," Nagarjuna told IANS.

"I exercise six days a week for one hour in the morning. Besides regular exercising, one should also take care of his or her daily habits such as adequate sleep and drinking lots of water. Apart from that, I enjoy whatever I do. It helps me in having a sound mind which in turn helps me stay fit," he added.

Recently, he flaunted six pack abs for his Telugu film "Damarukam". He says he didn't have to diet to achieve his goal.

"First of all, I never diet because I'm a foodie and that's why I own two restaurants. When I have to build a muscular body, I hit the gym and prepare myself, but that doesn't stop me from exercising regularly. I distribute 25 percent to diet (healthy eating habits), 25 percent to regular workout and 50 percent to daily habits," said the star.

Nag, as he is fondly called by his fans, celebrated his birthday on Aug 29. He may have turned a year older, but he says: "Retirement is the last thing on my mind."

"I don't think I will ever retire, but gradually like Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan), I will think of doing different kinds of roles. I will slowly start taking up roles where I don't have to singlehandedly take the burden of a film on my shoulders like I'm doing now as a hero," he said.

"I'm keen on doing strong character roles or even multi-starrer films. I want to continue acting as long as I can because being on the sets is a big stress buster for me. I can't possibly think of stopping my visits to the sets because I'm old," said Nagarjuna, who is awaiting the release of Telugu action-drama "Bhai".

"Bhai", directed by Veerabhadram, marks Nagarjuna's 96th film, and the actor is upbeat about touching the milestone century-mark.

"I think one of the reasons I haven't considered retiring yet from lead roles is I'm nearing my 100th film. I never thought I will do so many films in my career and when I'm finally almost close to it, why should I think of retiring. I may as well finish my 100th project and then think of what to do next," he said.

In a career lasting over two decades, he has essayed varied roles such as an urban lover, a contract killer and a 15th century poet, among others, but he says one role that left a lasting impression on him was that of Shirdi Sai baba in "Shirdi Sai", a 2012 Telugu biopic.

"I usually play a role and then forget it, but 'Shirdi Sai' was an uplifting experience. I wouldn't say it made me spiritual, but in a way it spiritually enlightened me from the inside. I read a lot of books on Shirdi Sai while preparing for the role, spoke to a lot of his avid devotees and in turn gained a lot of experience," he said.

"The film helped me to look at things around from a new perspective. It was not just a film, but an experience I would remember for a very long time," he added.

The 54-year-old has started shooting for Telugu family-comedy "Manam", which also features his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao and son Akkineni Naga Chaitanya.

An actor should do films for audience: Shahid Kapoor

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who is looking forward to his next release "Phata Poster Nikhla Hero", believes an actor should do films for the audience.

The 32-year-old made his Bollywood debut with 2003 release "Ishq Vishk" and later gave hits like "Vivah", "Kaminey" and "Jab We Met". However, he also faced tough time on box-office with films like "Teri Meri Kahaani" and "Mausam".

"Every actor has hits and flops but the most important thing for the actor is 'whether the audiences want to watch you (on-screen), they like you? If the audiences like or reject your films, you can change, you can improve your choices but if the audiences don't want to see you, then that's a big problem," Shahid said here in an interview.

"So you should always do the films for your audience and you should always have a relationship with your audience," he added.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, "Phata Poster Nikhla Hero" is slated to release Sep 20. The movie also features actress Ileana D'Cruz, who made her Bollywood debut with "Barfi!".

He gallops on a horse, swings his sword doing a 360 degree jump, thuds a wall with a kick. He is not just a hero, not even a superhero, but the one and only superstar Rajinikanth in "Kochadaiiyaan".

If the teaser of "Kochadaiiyaan" is anything to go by, fans of 'Thalaivar' are in for a visual treat when the film hits the screens soon.

Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, the film will feature Rajinikanth in three avatars.

While the initial response has been phenomenal on social networking platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, the teaser is also earning some flak for poor visual effects.

Mallika Sherawat is all set to find her Mr. Right through television show "Bachelorette India - Mere Khayalon ki Mallika" and Rohit Roy, the host of the show, says that the actress is completely natural on the show.

The actor added that the show is not rigged at all.

"This show cannot be rigged. Mallika is Mallika, she will not be governed by TRPs (Telivision Rating Point). She is very clear in what she wants and how she wants to go about it. There is no question of it being rigged," the 44-year-old told IANS in an interview.

Rohit said that his role is not only of a host in the show, but he will also be seen guiding the actress as she makes her decisions.

"I thought I would just be a link between Mallika and the audience. But my role is more complicated. Mallika takes advise from me. Also, the boys sometimes forget why they are here when they look at all this glamour, so I guide them as well," he said.

The actor said that he feels responsible on the show. He says that he must maintain some distance from the show as he tends to get biased.

"I feel so responsible and I get involved in everything. I should be distant from the entire proceeding as I can get biased. I feel I am responsible for how the show comes up. I feel responsible as an actor and as a friend," he said.

Rohit said that the significance of the show in his career would be decided once it comes on air in October.

"The significance of this show will be known once the show comes on air. Time will tell. Whatever I am involved in, whether it is acting or directing, I put a little bit of me in that. So, I expect the best," Roy said who has been seen in shows like "Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand" and "Swabhimaan".

If all goes as planned, then Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil period-drama "Kochadaiiyaan" will most likely release on his birthday Dec 12 worldwide, says a source close to the film's unit.

"The makers want it to be Rajini sir's birthday gift and in turn a treat for his fans. The idea is to release it on his birthday provided everything goes as smoothly as planned. We are currently busy with the post-production work," the source told IANS.

The first teaser of 'Kochadaiiyaan", which is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, was released online Monday. It has received mixed response from fans so far.

While true 'Rajinians' loved it, some panned it for its poor visual effects.
