Editor Nick Moore, popular for films like “Notting Hill” and “Love Actually”, has been roped in by Fox Star Studios to edit forthcoming film “Finding Fanny” for non-diaspora markets.

The makers believe that director Homi Adajania has made a global film that will be accepted in any market.

"The difference between the two versions is just three-four minutes and not a complete re-edit. This English version will be cut by Nick Moore to cater to that audience," Adajania said in a statement.

"It's the same story but will be told in a way that the firangs understand better," he added.

The Hindi and English versions of “Finding Fanny” will open in theatres Sep 12 across India and in 40 international territories, which form the diaspora markets.

The film is presented by Fox Star Studios, and there also are plans to release a separate edited version of “Finding Fanny” in non-diaspora markets -- the US, Europe and the Far East -- three to four months after its September release.

Produced by Maddock Films, it stars Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia in key roles.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty has been signed up as the female lead of Y-Films'"Bank-Chor" for a "cracker of a role" with Riteish Deshmukh. She says she's excited about the "roller-coaster ride".

"'Bank Chor' is a roller-coaster ride and I'm delighted to be on it. I've had a blast with the team on 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' and I'm sure this is only going to be bigger and better," Rhea said in a statement.

The actress started her career as a video jockey and then made her big screen debut in the 2013 entertainer "Mere Dad Ki Maruti". She was also seen opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in his single, "O heeriye".

Now, she will be seen in "Bank Chor", produced by Yash Raj Films' banner Youth Films Division Y-Films, which also brought out "Mere Dad Ki Maruti".

For the role, the makers "needed someone with spunk, who could be cute and hot at the same time besides speak 2,000 words per minute".

"Rhea speaks 8,000 words per minute in real life! She hit the ball out of the park on the other fronts as well and with her outrageous sense of humor she's gonna kill it," said Ashish Patil, business and creative head, Youth Films, brand partnerships and talent management at YRF.

"Bank Chor" is a comic-caper that tells the story of three morons trying to rob a bank who pick the worst day possible when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong, and how they're inadvertently caught in the crossfire of cops, industrialists and corrupt politicians. It is directed by Bumpy and produced by Patil.

Besides "Bank Chor", Rhea has an exciting line-up of films. Up next is Rohan Sippy’s "Sonali Cable", in which she plays the titular role.

Sonam Kapoor unveils 'Khoobsurat' trailer

Actress Sonam Kapoor Monday unveiled the trailer of her forthcoming film "Khoobsurat", and said the film's producer and director have "exposed me completely in this film".

A remake of Rekha and Rakesh Roshan starrer 1980s super-hit film "Khubsoorat", it has been directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Sonam's sister Rhea.

Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Afzal Khan will be seen as the male lead in the movie.

"There was no problem on the set because Rhea, Shashanka and the writer (Indira Bisht) knew me so well that very shamelessly they have taken every part of my personality and exposed me completely in the film," Sonam told reporters at the launch.

Although it is her home production, Sonam didn't have to take any extra responsibility other than acting.

"I am just an actor, there's no responsibility. It's only Rhea and Shashanka's responsibility, I have only done acting and nothing else," said the 29-year-old.

"When I take on a job as an actor, I only concentrate on doing that, otherwise there is a conflict. You have to just do your best with what you have got," she said and added that when she starts thinking about the responsibilities, then she "won't be able to go to work next day in the morning".

"So it's just the matter of taking each day, enjoying my work and saying that I will be a selfish actor and I will do my best for the film," Sonam said.

In the recent past, Sonam has been part of hits like "Raanjhanaa" and "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag". However, her last release "Bewakoofiyaan" bombed at the box office.

Shashanka said his version takes the story forward.

"Original was just a clash of values within the family and here we have taken it a little further but we have held on to the core idea."

If Dina Pathak played a strict mother in the original, her daughter Ratna will be seen in the remake.

Fawad Afzal Khan, one of the most sought after Pakistani singer-actor, has drawn flak back home for his decision to enter Bollywood. But he is unperturbed and says art is something that travels across all borders.

He is making his debut with "Khoobsurat", a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1980 hit of the same name, opposite Sonam Kapoor. But even before the film's release, Fawad has earned a huge fan following, thanks to his show "Zindagi Gulzar Hai", which was aired on Zindagi channel.

When asked about his reaction on the criticism, he said: "The people you are talking about are very few. There will be people who will criticise. They are entitled to their opinion. Even if someone from India goes to work there, someone or the other will make noise."

"Art is something that travels across all borders. Art knows no culture and creed. As an actor, I would like to explore myself. I do feel bad, but I choose to ignore criticism. I think to pay attention to it is unnecessary," he told reporters Monday at the trailer launch of "Khoobsuat" here.

Charming as ever, he wowed everyone when he sang the title song of his show "Zindagi Gulzar Hai" at the event.

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, "Khoobsurat" has been produced by Sonam's dad Anil Kapoor and sister Rhea under the banner Anil Kapoor's Film Company Pvt. Ltd. For Fawad, it's an honour to collaborate with the Kapoors for his Bollywood debut.

He said: "I think it's a very big honour for me to work with the family. When I met these people, I found them very interesting. Most of all, the way I was treated and welcomed was very kind and warm."

"So all in all, this has been a very interesting episode in my life. I had a lot of fun. There was a lot of love and warmth."

Fawad praised Sonam for being "a very accommodating, very warm, and very welcoming person".

"I took time for settling in the new environment, but the entire team, the production... everyone made sure to make me feel comfortable."

Releasing Sep 19, the film sees Ratna Pathak stepping into the shoes of her mother Dina Pathak who is still remembered for playing a disciplinarian and strict mother in the original.

Rakesh Roshan, housing society to donate Rs.15 lakh to fireman's family

$

A fierce fire that broke out in a posh highrise building named Lotus Business Park in Andheri here left one brave fireman named Nitin Ivalekar dead. Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has gotten together with the other property owners of the building to offer a compensation to the fireman’s bereaved wife.

"We've decided to give the wife a cheque of Rs.15 lakh. It is nothing to compensate for his death. But it will help her with her son's education," said Roshan.

Apparently the fire fighter’s wife demanded a written assurance from the government that the deceased fireman’s family would be financially looked after. However, it is not yet known what action the state government has taken to compensate the Ivalekar family.

“What happened was a terrible accident and ‘not sheer bad luck’, as a section of the media has wrongly quoted me as saying. A word like ‘luck’ reduces the enormity of the terrible occurrence. No. I think what happened was way beyond bad luck.

"And when we heard about the brave fireman’s death and his wife and child we were deeply shaken. We thought we must do something,” said Roshan, who owns notable property in the ill-fated building.

Rakesh feels such accidents should not be treated as only the government’s problem.

“In a high-rise building there are many floors owned by people who can afford to compensate personally for damages if and when such an accident occurs. There were 22 floors in the building were the fire broke out. The fire broke out on the 21st floor. But the firemen could only reach up to the 17th floor. What if the building was much taller?

"There were all the fire-safety equipments in the building. But nobody seemed aware of how to use them in the building. Given the risky situation anything could have happened. Many lives could have been lost. One man did lose his life. And he died trying to save property and lives. I think we in the building owe it to the deceased man’s party to make small monetary compensation,” he said.

The filmmaker says he only owns property in Lotus Business Park.

“We have no active business concerns in the building. Miraculously no damage has occurred within the property because of the strong fire-proof windows. We are told we can re-occupy our property in two months. But we need to do some serious thinking about safety measures in high-rise buildings.”

One brings to the producer-director notice that his family has been facing some major setbacks in the past year - Hrithik’s back problem, which has considerably slackened his career’s pace, then Hrithik’s shocking breakup with his wife and now the fire.

“Pray for me and my family. Please pray that nothing more goes wrong,” said Roshan.

Salman Khan, known for promoting new breed of actors, has given Nargis Fakhiri a song opportunity in his "Kick" and feels that mindset about "pretty and outstanding dancer" is baseless.

"Nargis has done a song in the film, which is outstandingly great. I really like her, her energy is great, and I think she will be benefited a lot with the song," said Salman.

"I don't know why there was so much negativity about Nargis earlier. I think she is a very pretty girl, an outstanding dancer and a lovely person to work with. She has got a great sense of humour," he added.

The directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala, "Kick" is set for July 25 release and the superstar will be seen romancing Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez in the action drama.

Drawing a comparison between Nargis and his on-screen leading lady Jacqueline, Salman pointed out the similarities in them.

"Both are very spontaneous and chilled out... they are like the girls-next-door. Jacqueline has got this film only because of her hard work and everyone deserves a second chance. Jacqueline was the best choice. We are grateful that she did the film."

Definitely within a year: Vir Das on marriage

$

In his recent release "Amit Sahni Ki List" Vir Das' character may have gone through a painful breakup but in real life the actor-comedian is happily settled and says that he may tie the knot soon.

"I am happy in a relationship with a normal girl called Shivani. She's an events manager and we're in a stable relationship. No she doesn't manage my career. She only manages me at home," said Vir.

When asked why would he mention her being normal, he said: "Because I consider myself completely abnormal. I think every actor is slightly wacky. Shivani keeps me grounded. She's my reality check."

What about wedding plans?

"Not immediately, but soon. Definitely within a year. I am a man who is the happiest when committed in a relationship. We live together. We have a bull dog. And we share a ridiculously happy life together," he said.

In the film, the protagonist's painful breakup sequence is based on Vir's real life experience.

"The breakup in the film is borrowed from my life," he said.

"It actually happened to me. And by the way that girl who gets turned on by cars... I've been with a girl who actually likes it in the car. I put both these personal experiences into the film to give it a touch of realism," he added.

If the lead character in "Amit Sahni Ki List" has a list of the qualities he wants in his ideal woman, Vir too has a wish list.

"Yes ,I've basically four qualities that I look for in my ideal woman. She must laugh at all my jokes, specially the bad jokes. She must be a good eater because being a foodie I don't like the Caesar salad types.

"She must be a dog lover because I own one and I love him more than I'd probably love her. And if her last name is Mittal or Ambani, I don't mind," said the actor.

In the past, Vir did adult comedy "Delhi Belly", zombie movie "Go Goa Gone" and thriller "Revolver Rani".

Post 'Devil', Nargis Fakhri bruised, battered

"Rockstar" fame actress Nargis Fakhri may be in bed resting it out after sustaining injuries while shooting her "devil" item song with Salman Khan for Sajid Nadiadwala's "Kick", but she finds the experience exhilarating.

"It was a devil of a song," she said punning on the song's title "Devil".

The song is composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh, his first for Salman and after his "Lungi dance" track for Shah Rukh Khan in "Chennai Express".

"It is a very special song. I do like Yo Yo Honey Singh's songs. So I was super-excited about that as well. And I am blessed to have danced to it with Salman. Never mind the minor injuries."

Nargis admits it was physically an ordeal to dance to Yo Yo's energetic beats.

"It was stressful. Before the dancing, I always get so nervous and stressed. I am not very comfortable with the gyrations and thrusts. My entire physical presence becomes tense.

"I was dancing with Salman with a torn meniscus, a torn ham-string and two inflamed discs. So there was a lot of pain. But I kept pushing myself because Ahmed Khan's choreography was so very inspiring. Now I am recuperating in bed."

She had suffered similar injuries while performing the "Dhating" number with Shahid Kapoor for "Phata Poster Nikla Hero".

"For that number with Shahid as well as for this number with Salman, I didn't allow my physique enough time and rehearsals to warm up properly. So it was a bit of deja-vu dancing. But every bit of the pain was worth it because of Salman."

Thankfully, Ahmed Khan worked the dance movements around Nargis's comfort zone.

"Ahmed was fantastic. Only he was aware if my injuries because I shared my pain only with him. He was aware of my comfort level. If a dance step didn't come easily to me he modified the step accordingly. But on the whole I stuck to the dance movements he created. Every one on the set was patient and supportive. The vibes were fantastic."
