Actor Paul Bhattacharjee's body found

British Indian actor Paul Bhattacharjee, missing since over a week, has been declared dead. He was 53.

The actor, best known for his role as Inzamam Ahmed in "EastEnders", went missing July 10. A body, which was discovered in East Sussex July 12, was identified Wednesday as Bhattacharjee's, reports mirror.co.uk.

He was last seen July 10 while leaving rehearsals at the Royal Court Theatre here. His last communication was with his girlfriend, who had received a text from him, later that night.

Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to the actor, who was also seen in James Bond film "Casino Royale" via microblogging site Twitter.

"Thoughts, prayers, heart goes out to Paul Bhattacharjee and his family," tweeted former "EastEnders" actress Brooke Kinsella.
