On winning the award, Venkatesh said in a statement: "I strongly believe that this documentary will bring about major changes to the life of Tamil fishermen and I would like to dedicate my award to them."

Venkatesh is currently wrapping up the upcoming Tamil feature film titled "Neelam", being made along the lines of "Moths".

As many as 10 documentaries were screened at the festival focused on acute problems of the contemporary world such as pollution, social inequality, non-compliance, racism and other sensitive issues.
