Designer Pria Kataaria Puri is "excited" about presenting her couture line at the Maitri Gala 2014, organised by NGO Maitri Bay Area, which is "devoted to various social causes".
The event will take place Saturday at the Compute History Museum in Mountain View, California.
“Indian ensembles are in great demand in India and abroad. I am thrilled to be associated with Maitri who are devoted to various social causes. I believe the rich and influential must come together to uplift, help and make a difference to the underprivileged,” Puri said in a statement.
This is her second stint at the gala.
Maitri Bay Area, which lends a helping hand to South Asian survivors of domestic violence, emotional abuse, cultural alienation, human trafficking and family conflict, is expecting 350 donors to bequeath various items like saris and kurtas.
The donated items will be displayed at the event and 20 percent of the proceeds from the sales will go to Maitri.
