Singer Armaan Malik, grandson of composer Sardar Malik, is set to release his new single "Krazy Konnection" which will also feature composer Salim Merchant.
The single will be launched under the Universal Music label.
It is Malik's first song under the label and it is scheduled to release Jan 27. His self-titled album will come out in February under the same label, said a statement.
"I'm excited and honoured to be signed on by Universal Music. It's a dream come true as I await the release of my debut single (with Universal Music) ' Krazy Konnection' with Salim Merchant and then my debut album," said Armaan.
"Music has always been a large part of my life and I'm very fortunate to be able to start a career doing something I love," he added.
Son of singer-composer Daboo Malik and nephew of famous music director Anu Malik, Armaan has been singing since he was 10 years old.
He has lent his voice to over 100 commercials and is known for songs like "Aa rela hai apun", "Behla do" and "Khel shuroo jo tune".
More recently, he sang "Tumko toh aana hi tha", "Love you till the end" and "Jai jai jai jai ho" for Salman Khan's forthcoming film "Jai Ho" and was also among the top eight in the singing reality show “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs”.
The music label is also happy to have the singer on board.
"At the age of 18, he's a brilliant singer, performer, musician all-in-one and it's not often an artist like him comes along...he's a superstar in the making," said Sunil D'Sa, vice president, marketing.
