Veteran designer Pallavi Jaikishan is excited about showcasing a collection offering new and different looks, from hand painted saris to a lehenga dress, at the India Bridal Week (IBW) which began at The Grand Hyatt here Friday. It will conclude Dec 4.
The designer will introduce three different looks during her show Saturday, said a statement.
The first collection will feature hand painted saris, followed by a new silhouette of a lehenga dress and lastly, the designer will introduce a new colour pallete of garnet-oxblood-maroons.
The line of hand painted French Jacquard, georgette and tulle saris has been created with Jaikishan's signature flowers. Each sari takes over a week to be painted and is then highlighted with delicate French sequences.
The lehenga dress is a one-piece dress with a ghagra worn with a delicate stole. Another high point of the collection are the lehengas and lehenga saris and jackets with Cullotes or knee breaches in shades of garnet-oxblood-maroons.
Another first this season is a line of jewellery by Jaikishan.
"Each of these necklaces are one of a kind. I have sourced the components from antique markets from all over the world and it has taken years to collect these components," said Jaikishan.
