Actress Nimrat Kaur is in the cast of highly acclaimed film "The Lunchbox" and says her wishful thinking came true by being part of the drama that revolves around lunch and lunchbox.
Written and directed by Ritesh Batra, the film set in Mumbai, revolves around a mistaken delivery of a lunchbox that leads to a unique relationship between a widower, played by Irrfan, and an unhappy housewife essayed by Nimrat Kaur.
Those who have seen the film are raving about it, so it is certainly a high for Nimrat.
"You don't even think that you will get an opportunity to do such a film," Nimrat said here Thursday in an interview.
"It is said that you get to do such a film after doing at least 10-12 films, when you break an image. But I did not have an image, so there was no burden or pressure," she added.
"The Lunchbox" is being promoted and released in the country by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar. It also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and hits theatres in India Sep 20.
"I loved the story and when I got to know that Irrfan was going to play a character in the film, I was absolutely thrilled. It's a wishful thinking. These are dreams you harbour as an actor, which has come true for me. It's crazy," she added.
Irrfan is also appreciative of Nimrat's work.
"Nimrat is making her debut and her work is beautiful. She has used her theatre training smoothly in the film," Irrfan said.
