"The Lunchbox" starring Irrfan Khan is not a typical commercial film but will surprise everyone, says Vivek Rangachari of DAR Motion Pictures, one of the co-producers of the movie which has been widely appreciated in festival circuits.
"I know today it's all about 200 and 250 crores but 'The Lunchbox' is not a typical commercial film. The film has a universal appeal and will have wider audience. It's a very unusual film," Rangachari told IANS.
He says the film was made on a medium budget.
"Its not a very high budget film and I am not allowed to reveal the budget right now. But all I can say is the film was made on a medium scale, its not an expensive film. We did the post production in Germany and France and editing in New York," he said.
Rangachari has also produced Irrfan's recent film "D Day" and says he is a wonderful actor and they are looking at a long term association with him.
"Needless to say he is a wonderful actor, we hope to do many more films with him," he said.
Directed by Ritesh Batra "The Lunchbox" also stars Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui among others.
