With the release of the Lunchbox trailer recently, the film is already garnering rave responses. Meanwhile the film and director Ritesh Batra have been creating waves worldwide too.
After bagging the audience choice award at the recently concluded International Critics Week at the Cannes film festival and winning the Best Directors’ award at the Odessa international Film Festival, the film has now won the audience choice award at the World Cinema Film Festival in Amsterdam.
Having opened the prestigious film festival, the film was in competition along with seven other first feature film including Oscar winning director Asghar Farhadi’s The Past. The film in addition bagged the audience choice award and cash prize at the festival.

Gearing up for a release on September 20, 2013, The Lunchbox produced by Sikhya Entertainment, NFDC, ROH Films, CineMosaic and ASAP film is being presented by UTV, Dar Motion pictures and Karan Johar.
