Singer Ozzy Osbourne was so keen to eat Indian curry at an Italian restaurant that a staff member reportedly had to order a takeaway for the rockstar.

When Ozzy recently went out for dinner with wife Sharon and her "The X Factor" friend Louis Walsh, the Black Sabbath band member ordered a curry.

He was asked to refer to the menu of London's posh C branch of the Cipriani chain, which offers European cuisine, reports mirror.co.uk.

But the 64-year-old wanted to have a curry and repeatedly told the waiter and his dining companions so.

The restaurant's staff member is said to have gone out to get him a takeaway.

"Ozzy was completely unfazed by the situation, and insisted he was in the mood for a curry. Sharon and Walsh kept telling him he should just have a nice bowl of pasta or something, but he wouldn't budge," said a source.

"He wanted a curry and as far as he was concerned that was the end of it. Obviously staff were keen to keep their high-profile guests happy, so waiters were dispatched to a nearby curry house in Mayfair and a takeaway ordered for Ozzy," added the source.

The staff members reportedly served the Indian dish on C-branded plates.

Shraddha Sharma, who participated in the fifth season of "Bigg Boss", feels that everyone in the current season of the reality show is diplomatic and no one ever takes a stand.

"Our 'Bigg Boss' definitely was much better. This time I don't find anyone man enough. Everyone is so diplomatic, be it Armaan Kohli or VJ Andy. No one takes a stand. All of them shift loyalties. Nobody's stand is clear," Shraddha said in an interview here while talking about the contestants in "Bigg Boss - Saath 7".

"You must have seen that when I was in 'Bigg Boss', I always had a clear stand despite the fact whether I was nominated or not. But this time all of them change loyalties and don't stand up for their friends," she added.

Asked who she wants to win the show, Shraddha named ace wrestler Sangram Singh.

"Sangram is a good friend and I would like to see him win. Sangram is a simple human being. He is not diplomatic like others. He is closer to me than Payal (Sangram's girlfriend Payal Rohatgi) is to me. I would definitely want him to win," she said.

The top heroines turn me down: Sunny Deol

$

Sunny Deol is seen romancing a much younger Urvashi Rautela in Anil Sharma-directed "Singh Saab The Great" and he says he will continue to work with new talent as established actresses are not keen to work with him. He is also in no mood to mince words about the way the film industry functions nowadays.

"About time a film of mine was well-received. I am tired of the long non-happening phase. Unfortunately I haven't had too many releases recently. There are some of my films that are on hold. Hopefully, they'll be released soon. But let me add, I don't need to prove myself. I just need good cinema, the kind of cinema I believe in," said Sunny.

Sunny, 57, is seen romancing 19-year-old Urvashi Rautela in the film.

Why a co-star half his age?

"We are acting. We are not really husband and wife. If she's much younger, that's fine. A lot of wives are much younger than husbands. That's no secret. And by the way, I am sure Urvashi is not 19 year either," said the actor who completes 30 years in filmdom after starting his journey with "Betaab" in 1983. On the way, he has given hits like "Ghayal" and "Damini".

The actor, who worked with the likes of Dimple Kapadia and Meenakshi Sheshadri, says that the current lot of established actresses are not keen to work with him.

"I've had problems with established heroines. For reasons best known to them, they don't want to work with me. It's a fact. The top heroines turn me down whenever I ask them to work with me. They want to work with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan. So it's fine," said Sunny.

"I search for new heroines, like Urvashi Rautela. These girls do not ration dates. While working on a film I don't have to deal with my heroine's tantrums when she's a newcomer. Now if you give an A-lister co-star I won't be able to work with her. Also, I get a chance to give new talent to the film industry. So yeah, I'll be seen with new co-stars in the future.

"There are lots of new talented and pretty girls in the industry. And trust me, these new girls won't look mismatched with me. I am open to adapting myself to the changes around me," he added.

Sunny plays a Sikh in "Singh Saab The Great" and this is said to be the sixth time he is playing a turbaned character on the screen.

Speaking of his affinity to Sardarji roles, he said: "I don't know how it happened. It started with J.P. Dutta's 'Border'. These Sardarji roles offer me powerful characters. 'Singh Saab The Great' may seem old-fashioned to some. I suggest they move out of Mumbai and look at the rest of the country. Har kahaani ka apna rang hota hai."

Lately Sunny featured on the small screen to promote his films.

"I've to confess, I enjoyed it," he said.

Regarding the sorry box office outcome of his last film "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2", Sunny says he had no idea how it would pan out.

"Forget what I thought about the film. It's what the audience thought that matters. They rejected the film, and that's that. It may have deserved to flop. But are you trying to tell me that only good deserving films do well? There are so many films that you feel are not working out well and they turn into hits," said Sunny.

No ticketing at IFFI next year: Organiser

Movie buffs here will not have to stand in a queue to buy tickets for film screenings during the next edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), an organiser said Tuesday.

Vishnu Wagh, chairman of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), a co-organiser of the festival, said the decision had been taken because delegates at the film festival simply buy and block tickets, but do not attend screenings.

"We have decided to do away with ticketing at the next festival. All you need to do is stand in queue outside the screening hall. It's on a first-come-first-served basis," Wagh said.

If one combines all the screening halls together, there are nearly 2,000 seats for over 10,000 delegates who have registered for the festival. This is leading to a mad rush for tickets, because most of the film screenings are fully booked hours in advance.

IFFI, India's biggest international film festival, is held in Goa annually in the last week of November.

'Baga Beach' about tourism ills in coastal Goa: Director

Child abuse, conflict between locals and in-migrants, impact of holidaying foreigners in Goa is the sum of "Baga Beach", a film which examines the underbelly of tourism in coastal Goa, its director said.

Speaking to reporters after the screening of the film at the 44th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), director Laxmikant Shetgaonkar, a local here, also said that the film is packed with real references.

The movie's story revolves around the personal stories of seven characters, who include actors from France, Germany and Goa, as also Bengali star Paoli Dam.

"I have been researching this film for nearly three years. I spoke to a lot of stakeholders like beach shack helpers and child rights activists. Their stories and experiences are a part of the film," Shetgaonkar said.

The director said the film mirrors the realities on most tourist-frequented beaches of Goa, and that Baga Beach was a metaphor for just about any beach and coastal community in the state.

In the film, Paoli plays a girl selling beads and other trinkets on the beach. Her character falls in love with a foreigner, and a migrant boy falls in love with her.

The actress said she was impressed by real life trinket sellers, young women who spoke English, German and even Russian with aplomb and with proper accents while dealing with foreign buyers.

"I saw them at the Anjuna flea market while I was researching for the role. I was very impressed with their accent and the manner in which they dealt with their business," Paoli said.

Social media effective film marketing tool: R.S. Prasanna

Director R.S. Prasanna is using social networking platforms to create the right buzz for Tamil romantic-comedy "Kalyana Samayal Saadham", releasing Dec 6. He believes it's an effective marketing practice.

"Of course, there's money involved in marketing and my distributors know it better. But social media is a cheap and effective marketing technique because it helps create one-to-one communication with the audience about your film," Prasanna told IANS.

"Kalyana Samayal Saadham" revolves around one big fat south Indian wedding.

Produced by Arun Vaidyanathan, the film features Prasanna Venkatesan and Lekha Washington in the lead roles.

"Since the theme of our film revolves around marriage, all of us have replaced our profile pictures on Facebook with our wedding pictures. This includes me, my producer Arun and lead actor Prasanna. Lekha, who is still single, has been posting best wedding videos available on the net on her wall," Prasanna said.

The idea was to do something innovative.

"Even though it was a planned strategy, we are doing it because we love our film. Instead of counting the days for release, we decided to do something that will stand out and draw the attention of the audience. From profile pictures to personal posts, we wanted everything to be marriage-related," he said.

The creative initiative has been received well.

"We have been getting congratulatory messages from people we don't even know on Facebook. It's a myth that social media is an urban phenomenon, but it's not only for the elitists. Even if audiences take notice of our work on these platforms, we have achieved our purpose," Prasanna said.

Child sex is being offered for Rs.50 on Goa's beaches, Pramod Salgaocar, producer of film "Baga Beach", claimed Tuesday.

Salgaocar, whose film is based on the ills of Goa's tourism industry, said she once got a complaint from a Hungarian tourist, who was reportedly offered child sex for Rs.50.

"Today you don't even get chicken for Rs.50," Salgaocar told a press conference here, quoting the complainant.

Goa gave India's first conviction in a paedophilia case involving Freddy Peats, a German who was sentenced to life for abusing scores of children in the 1980s.

Child abuse in Goa is one of the elements explored in Laxmikant Shetgaonkar directed "Baga beach", along with other aspects which make up tor the underbelly of tourism in this state.

"Every day four children are abused in Goa. These are government statistics," Shetgaonkar said.

Construction of Asia's largest one-stop entertainment complex which puts shopping, gaming, accommodation, culture and entertainment under one roof, is coming up at Manila Bay in the Philippines.

Once completed, it will become a leading tourism destination, business communication hub and one of the largest casino-resort complex in Asia, said Kazuo Okada, project investor and founder of Japan's Universal Entertainment Corporation, in an interview with Xinhua in Manila.

The project, by the name of Manila Bay Resort, covers an area of 1.13 million square metres, four times larger than the nearby Solaire Manila Resorts which opened last March.

It will be a high-end entertainment complex equipped with multifunction facilities, including a commercial and budget hotel zone, casino and five-star hotel zone with VIP private space, shopping mall with luxury brand shops and food and beverage zone. It will cater to high-end tourists from around the world.

The whole project is expected to cost an investment of 250 billion pesos ($5.75 billion) to be provided by Japanese gambling magnate Kazuo Okada. Its first phase will be completed by early 2015.

Operation of the entertainment complex will spur economic growth of the Philippines as it will strengthen competitiveness of Manila airport as it is just 13 minutes' drive from Ninoy Aquino Airport to the new seaside project, Okada said.

Moreover, the project will create jobs for 3,000 Filipinos during construction and for 17,000 people after its operation, he added.

Asked why he chose the Philippines as the location for this landmark project, Okada said Filipinos are well known for their English proficiency, hospitality and good education background, which are the essential requirements for high-quality services.

Secondly, the Philippines, with more than 7,000 islands edged by white sand and turquoise waters filled with some of the world's most diverse marine life, is an ideal place for tourists to visit in Asia. Tourists can relax and enjoy the great sunshine at the project.

Most important is the country's good location, Okada said, noting that the Philippines is adjacent to Singapore and other ASEAN countries, China as well as Hong Kong and Macao.

He believes its huge gaming venues will draw millions of newly well-off Asian visitors.
