"Welcome Back" is a sequel to 2007 movie "Welcome" and there is speculation that Nadiadwala is eager to rope in Amitabh for the role played by Feroz Khan in the original.

Big B, 70, was approached by Nadiadwala earlier as well but could not finalise things for various reasons.

"Firoz Nadiadwala has asked for a meeting and I will meet him next week. He had earlier met me once and I believe that time I didn't have the time or I didn't like the role. Sunny Leone to speak in Hindi, pathshala in progress

0

The firangi divas never had it so good in Bollywood. In Shoojit Sircar's "Madras Cafe" Nargis Fakhri, whose Hindi is still shaky (read: non-existent), conveniently plays a half-British journalist. Every single spoken line of hers is in English with Hindi subtitles for those who don't follow her global twang.

Now in "Jackpot The Full Jhol", Sunny goes a step further. She will speak her own Hindi lines. A full-fledged Hindi-Urdu tutor has been deployed for the purpose.

Director Kaizad Gustad smiles at memories of another firangi actress in his debut film "Boom". Kaizad had introduced Katrina Kaif in the film. Her Hindi then was non-existent. And her dialogues had to be dubbed.

Now Kaizad gets Sunny to be one-up on Katrina in "Jackpot".

"Sunny is the only female character in 'Jackpot'. And I hope to display her acting chops. We're reading the script every day. She will do her own Hindi dialogues. We're working on it every day.

"She is really one of the hardest-working actresses I've worked with. Just like Katrina. When Katrina came to Mumbai she didn't know a word of Hindi," Gustad said.

Sunny, who made her Bollywood debut with the 2012 film "Jism 2", seems mighty charged with the challenge of mastering the 'rashtra-bhasha'. She will also be seen in "Ragini MMS" sequel.

"I have learned all my Hindi lines for all my movies here. Even though 'Jism 2' was dubbed I still had to learn every single word. And in 'Ragini MMS' too I will be dubbing my own voice.

"It's very important to me to learn and work hard to get it right. I am extremely competitive so when someone tells me I can't do something like act, dance, express emotions on screen, or speak Hindi, all it makes me do is work harder to prove all those negative people wrong," she said.

"Jackpot" also stars Makarand Despande, who plays a funny twisted Konkani cop and Tamil star Bharath.

"It's basically a jhol (conflict) between Sachiin Joshi and Bharath with Sunny Leone pulling a fast one on them, and Naseer pulling a faster one. I am raring to finish. I've a lot of films to make. I am making three uninterrupted back-to-back films in the next one year," Gustad said.

Anil Sharma won't make 'Gadar 2'

Director Anil Sharma says his 2001 hit movie "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" will make people remember him for a century and he will not make a sequel to the blockbuster on the silver screen only for earning money.

The film starred Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel in the lead.

"If today I remake 'Gadar' I can understand it will be very successful. But only for the sake of business I will not spoil my 'Gadar' because this film will be remembered even after 100 years for Sunny Deol and myself.

"I want to be alive even after 100 years and it can only happen because of 'Gadar'. So I will not go for 'Gadar 2' until and unless I get that strong story," Sharma said here Thursday at the teaser launch of his next film "Singh Saab The Great".

The director accepts that a sequel can make good business and "Gadar" sequel will generate curiosity among the audience, and thus generate great business.

"Second part is always a good business proposition. I know the level of curiosity will be very high if I would make 'Gadar 2'. But 'Gadar' was such a big hit, probably the biggest blockbuster hit of Indian cinema.

"So much is talked about box-office numbers these days but it was the first film that crossed 100 crore rupees in 2001, in today's times it's a thousand crore," said Sharma.

Anil is currently gearing up for the release of his directorial "Singh Saab The Great", starring Sunny Deol in the lead.

Filmmaker Anil Sharma feels that actor Sunny Deol brought the trend of good cinema to Bollywood.

The director-actor duo has worked together in movies like "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", "The Hero: Love Story of a Spy" and "Apne".

Tracking Sunny's film journey, Anil said the actor is the harbinger of modern cinema in India and he, in fact, did it with his debut film 'Betaab' in 1983.

"I feel the cinema which is considered good cinema in India was started by Sunny's films. The kind of films like 'Arjun', 'Betaab' which he did in the starting of his career and the kind of directors with whom he worked, it led to the entry of modern cinema in India," said Sharma here Thursday at the teaser launch of his next film "Singh Saab The Great".

Meanwhile, Anil asserts one has to be very sincere and logical if Sunny has to be roped in for a film and this is something which has not changed about the actor with time.

"He has worked with best of the directors. So I always knew that to work with him one has to be very sincere, hard working and logical. Since the time I have worked with him for the first time till today he demands the same logic and sincerity," said Sharma.

Sunny will soon be seen as a Sikh in Sharma's next project "Singh Saab The Great", which is slated to release in November this year.

Vikram Phadnis moves away from gold, uses earthy shades

Ace designer Vikram Phadnis, who showcased his exquisite collection at the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2013 says he will use earthy colours for his next festive collection.

"In my clothing for the festivals, I am doing three colour palettes, I am moving away from gold ... they are all earthy," he told IANS.

The designer insists that subtle embroidery and bright colours are perfect for the forthcoming festive season.

"The embroideries have to be basic and simple. They have to be subdued on brighter colours," he said.

Varied shades of gold dominated Phadnis's collection which is based on "Ponds Gold Radiance". The designer said that he wanted gold to not be very jarring in his clothes.

"None of the garments had over the top shining shimmery gold. When I saw the gold particles in the serum, I wanted it to have that effect in my garments as well. It is pleasant and soothing to my eyes. I try to stick to those hues of gold," he said.

He made sure that he didn't go over the top with a bright colour like gold.

"It wasn't difficult but, it was challenging. We didn't want to go over the top so, necessary alterations were done. Gold is such a colour, if over done, it will look jarring. So, I used softer versions of gold like beige, ivory, copper gold and a bit of shimmer gold," he said.

The designer said it is always tough to do something new at fashion weeks, but he tries his best to do better every time.

"It is tough to do something new. You have to beat your own benchmark. Whatever you have achieved in the past, you have to do the same at least, if not better. So, every time you do a good show and people absorb it, the challenge becomes even more bigger," he said.

I don't have right bikini body: Parineeti Chopra

0
0

Bollywood actresses are readily flaunting a bikini on the big screen, but curvaceous actress Parineeti Chopra says she is overweight to flaunt the two-piece garment.

Asked if she will be okay wearing a bikini for a film, she said: "If I have a hot body, then why not? But right now I don't have the right body. I am still overweight, so there's no way I can wear a bikini."

As such, the vivacious actress doesn't have any limitations or restrictions as an artist.

"I don't want to restrict myself. I don't know how long will I act, or may be the audience will get bored of me and then I will not be acting... so (as long as I am in showbiz), I don't want to restrict myself," she said.

Parineeti admits that most actresses justify bold scenes by saying "it's the demand of the script". But she says it is actually so.

"In 'Shuddh Desi Romance', Sushant (Singh Rajput) has to be physically close with (characters played by) Vaani Kapoor and me for the conflict to happen. If a director says that let's put some kissing scenes for publicity, I will never do that. It's ridiculus," she added.

Busy with the promotions of "Shuddh Desi Romance, which releases Sep 6, Parineeti gaurantees that the movie is "entertaining".

The film is directed by Maneesh Sharma.

Filmmaker-actor-activist Amole Gupte, who is gearing up to work with his son Partho once again, says several acting offers come his way for the young star, but he refuses most of them.

Partho, who had won a national award for his stellar performance in "Stanley Ka Dabba", was also offered Vishal Bhardwaj's "Ek Thi Daayan".

"I keep getting acting offers for Partho. My standard reply is no. I felt bad saying no to Vishal Bhardwaj when he offered Partho 'Ek Thi Daayan'. He is acting in my film 'Hawa Hawaai' now. That's all," Gupte said.

"I can't allow him to work at odd hours. That would affect his studies and other normal activities. That would be bad karma. God bless my child," he added.

The 12-year-old is also busy learning to be a guitarist.

"He is a left-handed guitarist. For some time now, Partho has been learning to play the guitar from Bismarck Rodrigues who has taught the likes of Ehsaan Noorani (of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy) and Sanjay Divecha," said Amole.

Partho also sings. He is a choir singer in his school.

"Partho sings extremely well. There's a musician lurking in him, but we are not encouraging him to feel like a special actor, special musician or special in any way. We've even put away his awards for 'Stanley Ka Dabba' at a place behind the door," he added.
