According to reports, she is in Manali in Himachal Pradesh to shoot for a biopic on Olympic medal-winning boxer Mary Kom.

"I love outdoor shoots. Something so comforting about a routine... have such wonderful memories of Manali with my dad. It was our favourite thing to do... drive to the mountains and stop at every fruit stall and dhaba on the way, loud music and singing in the car," she tweeted Sunday.

"Getting off at the snow collected on the sidewalk and playing competitive snowball! And it hurt! Collecting pine cones and making a fire. Cooling fruits in the cold river and making a picnic wherever we wanted... my dad's sense of adventure was so spontaneous and fun. I miss you dad," she added.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is on a promotion spree for his forthcoming film "Bhoothnath Returns" and after the film's release on April 11, he will get busy with other projects.

"The 'Bhoothnath Returns’ promotions now take up all my spare time and travel. There is much to be done and there are time constraints. Radio, television, print, channel shows, visits to cities, premieres,” the 71-year-old, who will make appearance on shows like “Boogie Woogie” and “Comedy Nights with Kapil”, posted on his official blog srbachchan.tumblr.com.

He also mentioned that “there is a mountain of film scripts" that need to be read and decided upon.

In the coming months, he is looking forward to "R. Balki’s rather unusual and exciting film with Dhanush and Akshara starting work next month, TV serial shooting in progress and we hope that it comes on soon, Shoojit Sarkar’s film ‘Piku’ with Deepika (Padukone) and Irrfan Khan, starting work by June-July, simultaneously starting preparations for ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC)’”.

“And in between ‘KBC’ to find days and time for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s production, with Farhan Akhtar. There are a few more that have been green signalled - an Abbas Mustan film, a Rumi Jafri film and a few more with other distinguished directors and two offers from overseas,” he further posted.

Amitabh also has a desire to show his skills on the stage.

“Amongst all this, there shall be a desire to perform on stage with recitations from my father’s works, and to be able to take it on an extended form to cities within and without India. Then there is all the charity and philanthropic work, which shall involve personal looking into, to ensure proper execution and delivery,” he posted.

Recently he was a bit under the weather. He underwent a CT scan and was advised bed rest for a few days, but now Big B is raring to go.

"Health issues shall always remain - we are perishable entities, are we not? ... but for the moment the one that had jolted me recently has been taken care of ... sufficiently taken care of, to enable me to start gyming again ... felt good after a two-hour session," he posted.

'Ragini MMS 2' spooked audiences for good

Sunny Leone-starrer “Ragini MMS 2”, promoted as a 'horrex' -- a combination of horror and sex, had a good start at the ticket counters and experts are also recommending “Lakshmi” and “Ankhon Dekhi” as a must see.

Critics and viewers have, however, given “Gang Of Ghosts”, which released Friday along with the other three, a cold shoulder.

Directed by Bhushan Patel, "Ragini MMS 2" has collected about Rs.16 crore in two days.

“'Ragini MMS 2' has a solid start at the ticket window. Despite India versus Pakistan cricket match making a dent in business, Friday total is impressive. 'Ragini MMS 2' (earned on Friday) Rs.8.43 crore, Saturday Rs.7.50 crore. India business only,” tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

The movie hit the screens March 21, a day when most of the people were glued to their television sets to watch the India-Pakistan match in Bangladesh as part of ICC World Twenty20 tournament.

“'Ragini MMS 2' has sex, horror, comedy and hit music to ensure that it will prove a hit at the box-office,” trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted.

“Gang Of Ghosts”, also a horror film with comic elements, neither made the audiences roll with laughter on the floor nor gave them goose bumps.

“'Gang Of Ghosts' was meant to be a laugh-riot. But it hardly makes you laugh. Poor show,” Nahta posted on Twitter.

The Satish Kaushik directorial, made on a budget of Rs.15-Rs.16 crore, collected about Rs.1 crore in two days, said Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines.

Quirky drama "Aankhon Dekhi", directed by filmmaker-actor Rajat Kapoor, has been lauded for its content, but its chances of box office success seem to be bleak.

“In two days, it must have collected less than Rs.15 lakh,” Thadani told IANS.

Nahta is also not expecting it to hit the bull's eye. He tweeted: “'Ankhon Dekhi' is not commercial but has superb acting, ambience of mid-class family and excellent dialogues.”

Actress Neha Dhupia is also batting for the movie.

“Ok all the ones who love good cinema, do yourselves a favour... watch 'Ankhon Dekhi'. Rajat Kapoor's finest!” she posted on Twitter.

Nagesh Kukunoor's "Lakshmi" opened to rave reviews, but commercially it's not so viable. One hopes word of mouth helps the film as celebrities are lauding the movie on child prostitution, inspired by a real life story.

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur says the Monali Thakur-starrer is a “must see”.

“Yes. It goes over the top. It's melodramatic. Yes, it will disgust you. But what else is child prostitution supposed to be? Go. Must see 'Lakshmi',” Kapur told his Twitter followers.

Adarsh praised it saying it is "a heart-rending tale that ought to be told", while actor Rannvijay Singha lauded the director and the cast for their efforts and tweeted: "Making 'Lakshmi' wasn't easy! You guys are brave and you deserve lots of success, take a bow."

Indian-Australian actress Pallavi Sharda, who made her Bollywood debut with "Besharam", is happy being part of the Hindi filmdom and says the West doesn't look down upon the industry.

"I am extremely happy being part of Bollywood or being called a Hindi film actress. As far as West is concerned, they enjoy Bollywood and they don't look down upon Bollywood," Pallavi told IANS.

"Bollywood is cool in the West, especially the song and dance. But yes, sometimes-western filmmakers find it cliched and less crafted. I come from western school and I have been raised in the west, so I think every cinema has their own space."

In "Besharam", Pallavi had teamed up with Ranbir Kapoor and her next "Bombay Fairytale", a biopic, will see her with Ayushmann Khurrana.

"Ayushman is very mature and I enjoyed shooting with him. If you have an understanding co-star, half of your work gets sorted."

In what's a first for Hollywood and Bollywood, RIO 2, the sequel to 2011's hit animation flick, RIO will see two of Bollywood's leading actors feature as the main voices for the dubbed Hindi version!!

Yes, for all you movie fans out there, Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan will feature as the lovable and memorable macaws Jewel and Blu respectively, for RIO 2 releasing on 11th April 2014!! The English version of the movie will see the voices of Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg again which will be dubbed in Hindi by Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan!

Though in the past B-town actors have lent their voices on a small scale, this is the first time such a huge Bollywood association has taken place for a Hollywood franchise.

Rio 2 which is one of the most anticipated Hollywood movie in India, is an adventure comedy set in the Brazilian city of Rio De Janeiro! The movie will feature the return of Blu, Jewel and their three kids who leave their domesticated life for a journey to Amazon rainforest!

Actor Imran Khan specially had a fascinating experience while dubbing thanks to his supreme thirst for knowledge, he imbibed all the movie’s behind the scenes had to offer! He compares dubbing for the Hollywood flick to Bollywood films.

"RIO was an absolutely fun and fantastic watch when it released couple of years ago. The macaw Blu is a complete delight onscreen and when I was approached to voice Blu in RIO 2 i readily agreed to be a part of the film! Though I have always admired animations from a viewer's point of view, this time with RIO 2 I learnt about many fascinating elements that combine to make the final stellar film! There are so many nuances that synergize beautifully and it’s a completely different world when we compare to other movies! I had so much fun while dubbing as i had the complete freedom of giving various reactions and expressions through my voice, which is quite different from Bollywood, where we merely re-enact our dialogues shot previously. I also got a chance to sing a few lines of Blu in the movie for a party sequence that was an awesome moment too."

Well, now that Imran Khan has done the dubbing, wonder if we will see him act in a Hollywood flick too!

Bangladeshis should be treated as equals: Actress Raima Sen

Actress Raima Sen will be seen playing a victim in "Children Of War", based on the violent birth of Bangladesh, and, after familiarising herself with the tragedies experienced by its people then, says she feels strongly for them and hopes they are treated as equals now.

The "Godmother" star plays a journalist's wife who suffers during the atrocities during the genocide of 1971.

"I portray women empowerment strongly in my character and this is by far the strongest and most unconventional role I have ever done on screen," Raima told IANS via email interaction.

She says since she is a professional, the role hasn't impacted her personally, but she does feel strongly for Bangladeshis.

"...After knowing the history of the genocide, I do feel strongly for the people of Bangladesh and I am more compassionate towards them. I am hoping people feel exactly what we felt after shooting for 'Children Of War'," she said.

"Be compassionate ... towards the Bangladeshis as they have been emotionally and physically tormented and they deserve peace and harmony and well-being. We should treat them like equals and should not look down upon them," she added.

To bring justice to a character, she believes a director's vision is essential and she said director Mritunjay Devvrat helped to prepare for the role in the movie, which also features Indraneil Sengupta, Pavan Malhotra and Victor Banerjee.

"I guess to be prepared for a role, the director's vision is very important and Mrityunjay is a visionary. He had prepared us really well for the roles. I didn't need to do much research on the genocide as Mrityunjay was a thorough genius on the subject," said Raima, who has acted in Bengali films like "Chokher Bali" and "Shabdo" too.

The "director's actor", who sees how well she can incorporate herself in a role before selecting films, also said that the director's vision "just gives the cutting edge to the role with more clarity".

Raima is of the opinion that actors should put themselves in other people's shoes as much as possible.

"I would love to do all kinds of movies as I want to be more versatile in my roles. I want my fans to see each aspect of me and appreciate my performances. I guess as an actor, it is good to be a chameleon," she said.

Even if it means playing a glam doll, she is fine with it.

"I would like to. It is always fun to be more glamorous and chic," said the actress, who is mostly clad in saris on-screen.

Her on-screen style might be more on the traditional side, but the daughter of actress Moon Moon Sen's personal liking is the party staple - a little black dress.

"Like everyone, I clad to my comfort and fashion. Everyone has a style statement of their own. The little black dress I have is my favourite," said Raima, who will be also seen in a Bengali film titled "Kolkata Calling" with her sister Riya and their mother.

Nagesh Kukunoor gets accosted by sex workers

At a special screening of Nagesh Kukunoor's "Lakshmi" for sex workers held at the centre of a red-light area here, the filmmaker was accosted by a group of extremely overwrought sex workers who wanted to know who the played the nasty pimp in the film.

"Agar woh mil jaye to hum ussey aisa sabak sikhaayenge ki naani yaad aa jayegi (If we find him, we will teach him a lesson to remember)," the workers told Kukunoor after the screening.

The screening was held at the Alankar theatre on Grant Road.

Of course when they got to know that the "offender" was none other than Kukunoor himself, the sex workers directed their wrath at him, bombarding him with loud expletives and jostling him until he had to be whisked away.

Laughing at the experience, the film's co-producer Elahi Heptoolah said: "It was a screening only for the sex workers of Kamathipura (Mumbai's red-light district). The atmosphere was charged and emotional. The ladies completely empathized with what was being shown on screen.

"They felt it was their own story put up there and the pimp, played by our dear director Nagesh, represented everything that was evil in their lives. They felt a deep hatred for his character. They couldn't recognize Nagesh who stood quietly outside to see them off after the show as the guy played they pimp. When they did, they were very upset."

There are plans to show Kukunoor's film to prostitutes all across India.

"We feel 'Lakshmi' is relevant to sex workers' lives far beyond a film. We want to expose the film in all the red-light areas of the country. But first we're trying to get it released in Alankar cinema on Grant Road, so all the sex workers would be able to watch it," added Heptoolah.

Piaa learnt to ride a bike in a jiffy

Southern actress Piaa Bajpai, currently shooting for Malayalam film "Kelvi", learnt how to ride a motor bike in just a few minutes for a crucial sequence in the film. Impressed with her riding skills, the makers are planning to extend scenes featuring her with the bike.

"I used to drive my father' scooter when I was in class eighth or ninth. So I had the experience of riding a two-wheeler, but I never rode one with gears. I learnt to ride a Pulsar NS 200 bike for the film. It just took me few minutes to ride on my own without anybody running behind me," Piaa told IANS.

"My director was getting ready to shoot the bike sequence with a double, but I told him I could do it on my own. I actually had to ride the bike with another girl on it. I did it with ease and because of that, the director has decided to add a few more scenes with the bike," She added.

She says she rode the bike independently.

"My assistant director helped me familiarise myself with the brake and gears on the bike. After he did that, I asked him not to follow me when I was riding. He was worried that I may fall down but I was extremely confident and rode on the roads of Cochin," she added.

Piaa enjoys riding bikes and she plans to own one soon.

"In between shots, I take the bike for a spin. I think I should buy one soon in Mumbai, so that I can go for late night drives," she said.

"Kelvi" is being directed by Hashim Marikar. It also features Shweta Menon, Manoj K Jayan, Mumtaj and Devi Ajith in important roles.

I've deepest love, respect for Kirron: Gul Panag

$

Actress Gul Panag, who is said to have started a 'Twitter war' with Kirron Kher, her competition in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, says she did not intend to poke fun at the veteran artist as she harbours love and respect for her.

The two Bollywood actresses of different generations, both sharing the common trait of dimpled cheeks, are competitors for the elections. While Kirron is representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chandigarh, Gul is contesting on an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ticket from the same constituency.

Last week, Gul tweeted: "Doubt if I'll have the energy to run around like this and serve my people when I'm 60. I guess that's why there's normally a retirement age."

To this, Kirron, 58, had retorted with sufficient sarcasm, saying: "For me life starts at 60 and I have the blessings of my 101-year-old father to fight this contest and emerge victorious."

When contacted, Gul said: "I'v no idea where, when and how this started! My Twitter page is open to the public. I've nothing but the deepest love respect and admiration for her (Kirron)."

Explaining that her comments on the retirement age did not mean to cast aspersions on Kirron's abilities, Gul said: "I was speaking only for myself and what this election campaign means to me. My stamina, energy and vigour are coming in handy during these times of rigorous campaigning."

The 35-year-old Gul says she starts her day from 5 a.m. to travel and connect with people till late in the night.

"I really don't think I'd be able to do this 25 years from now. I am working 20 hours a day and surviving on three to hours of sleep. This is why I am grateful for my stamina that I've cultivated through my marathon runs," said the former beauty queen, who filed her electoral papers last week.

"It's a tough battle. We (AAP) lack the means, monetary or otherwise, that the other two parties (Congress and BJP), have in abundance. So we can't afford to buy loyalty."

Gul says she's fighting a battle on behalf of a party that intends to bring about a change.

"This is a fight to clean out a system which has given durability and sanction to the two well-entrenched national parties (the Congress and the BJP). The two parties are fighting tooth and nail to preserve their monopoly that we are determined to eradicate."

Gul is currently surrounded by like-minded supporters in Chandigarh.

"I've lots of friends and family who have travelled down from all over the world to help me fight this battle to clean up the country's politics. I can't afford to slip up. I'm overwhelmed by the support to this movement."

At 71, Amitabh Bachchan wasn't sure if he would be able to lend his voice to a high voltage rap number. But the fact that special party song "Party With Bhootnath" with popular rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh was "beautifully conceived" drove him to sing for it.

The collaborative song is part of Big B's forthcoming film "Bhootnath Returns". Its video released online last week and it is being loved.

"It is very tough to do such things (a song with high energy) at my age. Since it is a very beautiful song and beautifully conceived, I thought that I should do it," Big B said here at an event to promote the film.

In the video, Big B and Honey Singh are seen partying, dancing and rapping at a spooky bungalow.

Talking about Honey Singh and his collaboration with him for the song, Big B said: "I had heard a lot about Yo Yo Honey Singh and also about his music... I loved his music and songs when I heard them. When Bhushan Kumar-ji told me to have such a song with Honey Singh, I agreed," said the actor, who plays a ghost (bhoot) in "Bhoothnath Returns".

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, "Bhoothnath Returns" is the sequel to 2008 film "Bhootnath" and it will hit theatres April 11. The sequel takes off from where the first film ended, albeit with a new story.
